Dearest Love

All of these days, I have lived

My life loving you to no end.

But there is a hole in my heart that,

No matter how hard I try, I cannot mend.

That isn't to say your love wasn't enough--

Oh, darling! It was. The countless times

You held me dear, whispering happy thoughts

In my ear, caressing my cheek, kept the

Demons at bay. Oh, how I'll never forget

Those moments of pure safety. But,

I fear the worst when you are away--a

Fear so deep within I can no longer bear

The thought of being without you

In my presence at all times--a burden

Unfair to someone deserving of a love

I cannot return wholeheartedly.

So I took these pills that I may

Feel comfort in your arms

one last time--

Hear your happy whispers

one last time--

Feel your hand brush my cheek

one last time--

As I drift off into eternal sleep.
